Multiplying the Self: solo choreography and technology (working title)

Abstract

Marguerite's Practice Research is titled: Disrupted Choreographies: The solo as a vehicle for change, investigating the notion of disruption in solo choreographic practice. By developing deliberate disruption within her own and others’ solo practice, Marguerite's aim is to up-root habitual patterns of choice and bring greater awareness to the context and nature of solo making. She will use a combination of digital ‘interventions’ and the presence of others in dyad (subject / witness) and group practice sessions. These varied models for practice (solo, dyad, collective) aim to highlight the embedded nature of the singular practice of solo making within a wider socio-political context.
