Personal profile

My philosophy is 'If I tell you everything I know, I've lost nothing. Now you know as much as me'.

My experience in both professional studies and practical working environments has given me an ideal eclectic mix of skills, which bring the maximum value to the teaching and development of management and other related areas across the range of programmes and levels offered by the Business & Law including Executive Training and Consultancy.

My job role is focused on taking care of corporate work within business and law. I have an extensive career background including running my own business for 20+ years specialising in start-up companies and new product development.

My top achievements over my career have been:

  • Managing contracts up to the value of 300 million whilst working as a Civil Engineer
  • Becoming an Accessor for Sandhurst
  • I was the youngest Hotel Manager at the age of 20
  • I was asked to provide some marketing support for a charity named CRISP but with only 8 months to go for lottery funding, I was asked to manage the company. In short, I developed an overlapping strategy of project to provide progression in the company and managed to do a fly on the wall TV programme (True Vision) which went out on BBC 1 and created over 40,000 new leads for future work. This also made us visible and Comic Relief awarded them £250,00 grant for their Anti Bullying in schools campaign.

Research interests/expertise

  • I researched and wrote a paper highlighting the areas of “misfit” between modern business philosophy and traditional “engineers paradigm”.
  • Published academic and degree training materials for commercial organisations such as Henley Management College and Business Links
