Title

‘Embedding Entrepreneurship Training in Science, Technology and Engineering (STE) Education: A Case of The Gambia’

PhD project abstract

This study will explore the processes involved in the development and delivery of embedded entrepreneurship training in science technology and engineering (STE) curriculum in The Gambia. In 2021, the government of The Gambia as part of its higher education reform agenda launched an educational degree program programme in which entrepreneurship training is being embedded in the science, technology and engineering curriculum at the Gambia Technical Training Institute. Considering the relevance of this programme towards the policy initiative of the Government to upgrade the institute into an applied science university, it is critical to investigate the relevance, appropriateness and responsiveness of this programme to students, trainers and employers including industry. The main question of this is how can entrepreneurship training be successfully embedded in STE education in The Gambia?
