I joined the education team at º£½ÇÉçÇø in November 2022 after I finished my PhD from, the School of Education at Durham University. My PhD project was on the use of literature in intercultural education and communication in Algerian universities. While doing my PhD I was also teaching on the MA in intercultural Communication and Education and the BA in Education at Durham university.
Prior to my PhD, I did my BA and MA in Constantine, Algeria, then spent one year studying at Canterbury Christ Church University to develop my linguistic and research skills. During this period, I had the opportunity to meet with key scholars in the field of intercultural education and communication who inspired me to develop interest in and do my PhD in this area.
My PhD experience has given insights into epistemologies of intercultural education from different perspectives (Global North and South) by researching multilingually using English, French and Arabic to understand education values in different countries and cultures. This has become an area I’m passionate about and has encouraged me to broaden my perspective and consider developing an interdisciplinary expert knowledge profile.
I currently teach and supervise students on the BA Education Studies, the MA Education Practice and Doctoral College and welcome expressions of interest for PhD supervisions in the areas outlined below.
