Recognising and Responding to Acute Physical Deterioration in Adults
The module prepares nurses and allied health professionals to identify and manage acutely ill adults outside critical care. Using a systems-based, problem-solving approach, it enhances knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology while integrating national clinical guidelines. Learners will develop skills in patient assessment, diagnostics, and evidence-based care planning to effectively respond to clinical deterioration.
Entry criteria
- All students must have an effective registration with an appropriate Professional statutory regulatory body
- Students should usually have a minimum of one year’s post-registration experience, normally within a health practice setting
- They should also possess 120 credits at levels 4 and 5 (previously 1 and 2) that has not previously been counted towards a degree award
- Student should have the ability to study successfully at Degree Level
